The monkeys at Wat Phnom

Wat Phnom is one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Phen. Built in 1317, it stands at 27 metres and is the tallest religious structure in the city. There is a colony or family of monkeys that life on this hill in the middle of the city. Often the monkeys travel on the power lines to get to near by buildings. They have stolen food and other items off of their balcony.

My mom tried to reach for this monkey next to her and he got on her head and pulled her hair. It was rather exciting... there were lots of screaming involved. But as you can see her hair was still intacted.

Thank you for your continued travel tour of Cambodia. Our girls here at the Home have enjoyed following along on the map in our hallway the places that you visited. They are hoping that you will come and visit them someday(and bring those 2 adorable little girls of yours).
